Oneida, Kansas is a small town located in northeastern Kansas, in Nemaha County. According to the 2010 census, the population of Oneida was 75. The town was founded in 1880 and was named after the Oneida Indian tribe. In the early years, Oneida was a railroad town with the Missouri Pacific and the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific railroads both passing through the town. Today, Oneida is a quiet community that boasts a post office, a Baptist church, and a handful of small businesses. The town is surrounded by farmland and is known for its beautiful sunsets. Oneida is located approximately 20 miles east of Seneca, the county seat of Nemaha County.
